In collaboration with Omaha Productions, we set out to give fans an inside look at two of college football’s modern powerhouses: the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. Our team was granted unprecedented access for an outside production crew, embedding with both programs during the season and capturing team meetings, practices, and behind-the-scenes moments rarely seen by the public. After building trust with head coaches Ryan Day and Dan Lanning, we were even welcomed into their personal offices (and in Coach Lanning’s case, his home) giving us the opportunity to tell deeper, more human stories about the programs. From this access, we produced six original features that aired on CBS right before kickoff, generating tens of millions of views throughout the season. Each story moved from filming to broadcast in just six days, requiring a fast and strict production workflow. With that level of access also came real responsibility: protect what needed to remain private, avoid disrupting the work of the teams, and still capture the moments that make for powerful storytelling. Striking that balance was essential—and it’s exactly what we delivered.
