From the Denver Post: "The Colorado Rapids are set to premiere a documentary of goalkeeper Tim Howard’s final season. Titled, “Just the Beginning,” the film follows the U.S. Soccer legend’s final professional season as he begins his transition to a life off of the field.
At a premiere party Friday, the club showed the film to its entire organization and select media members. Howard narrates for most of the 30 minutes while the club followed him from stadium tunnels, to his other gig broadcasting for Turner Sports, to moments in his family’s home. The 40-year-old’s ownership of USL side Memphis 901 is examined as well as his infamous tattoos.
Howard’s 18-year-old teammate Cole Bassett recalls practice stories and being starstruck upon meeting one of the icons of the game. Like Bassett, 22-year-old filmmaker Riley Clinton had a special experience shadowing Howard for most of the summer.
“It’s such a personal look,” the Rapids digital producer said. “There are countless videos about Tim Howard, he’s had an incredible career, but the access I was granted with him letting me into his world and just letting me follow him was crazy.”"
